Stay alert ! Here's coming the horrible 'Cyclone Mekunu'

The word Cyclone is derived from a Greek word cyclos, meaning coiling of snake. Tropical cyclone is a deep low pressure area wherein the central pressure falls 6 to 8 hPa (hectopascal) from the surroundings. Strong winds spiral around the centre and pick up speeds of 62 kmph or more. These winds rotate counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere.
Cyclone Mekunu is likely to trigger heavy showers along the western coast of Maharashtra in the next few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned on Thursday. Some isolated places in Konkan will receive rain, but the rest of Maharashtra will have no impact. To have a closer look over these conditions and implementing evacuation plan, high resolution imageries are most benefited.

SATPALDA an ISO 9001:2008 company provides data that is of immense importance in disaster management. For high resolution and ultra high resolution data we can provide satellite imageries and drone data as well. To calculate the effect of these conditions on localities we need to map the area with the help of DTM, GIS, Land cover mapping and Remote sensing.
